The Democracy for Forever bloc attempted to report presidential advisor Santiago Caputo for violence and threats against Facundo Manes, but upon arriving at the Chamber of Deputies police station, they found no police personnel to receive the report. Deputy Pablo Juliano, president of the bloc, arrived at the police station in Congress around 11:30 PM, but after waiting an hour and a half, he had to leave without being able to file the complaint.
According to reports, the incident that led to the accusation occurred during the Legislative Assembly, when Manes displayed a copy of the National Constitution before President Javier Milei and Santiago Caputo. Additionally, associates of Caputo allegedly physically assaulted the radical deputy. From Democracy for Forever, they criticized the police station's lack of response and reported that there was no personnel available to attend to the legal submission.
The incident generates tension within Congress and reignites the controversy surrounding the methods of pressure within the ruling party.
In a statement, the bloc expressed their disappointment in the lack of attention from police authorities, considering it a serious negligence. Juliano stated: "It is unacceptable for a presidential advisor to act in this way and for there to be no due protection for an acting deputy."
Later, the presidential advisor reportedly warned Manes that he would "use all the power of the State against him," adding another chapter to this ongoing controversy in the country's political sphere.
